What you play with

Towers, enemies & economy

Build up your defenses, keep the waves off your gate and tune your economy between runs. Here's what's inside:

Build towers

14 unique towers: slow, stun, knock back, burn, decompose or launch drones that reveal invisible enemies. Mid-run tier upgrades turn your starter gun into serious hardware.

Fend off waves

Fast swarms, armored bruisers, quick chargers and enemies that turn invisible – plus tough bosses that drop valuable rewards.

Earn coins

Every kill drops coins. Spend them wisely: new towers, upgrades, or save up for the next wave?

Collect materials

Gather materials and loot from your runs and socket them into skill-tree nodes – for permanently stronger towers.

Grab the loot

Bosses drop valuable loot. Socket it into skill-tree nodes and let your build escalate.

Custom maps

Build your own battlefields in the editor, test them live and share your nastiest layouts via copy-paste code.

Four ways to play

Game modes

Four ways to play Gateshock – each with its own twist and tons of replay value.

Tower defense mission in combat

01

Campaign

Fight across 4 planets – the hot desert world Toodry, the earth-like Overgroan, the barren rock world DemRox and – yes – the chocolate planet Shugaria. Every world brings its own enemies and twists.

  • 4 hand-built worlds
  • Unique enemies per planet
  • Boss cards as run modifiers

02

Endless

Endless, escalating waves. After every boss you draw a card – a run-shaping modifier. Stack it, snowball it, tempt your luck.

  • Endlessly escalating waves
  • Boss card drafts
  • High-score chase

03

Map editor

Build your own battlefields, test them live right away and share them via copy-paste code. From a cozy training ground to a nasty death trap.

  • Free paths & placement
  • Instant live test
Skill tree with upgrades

04

Skill tree

A deep meta tree per tower. Master keystones don't just buff – they rewrite: a single flame becomes a firestorm. Socket loot into nodes and let it escalate. Die, invest your progress and come back stronger.

  • Rewriting master keystones
  • Socket loot into nodes

PC first, via Steam. Wishlist it so you don't miss the launch. We'll look at more platforms after that.

When does it release?

Gateshock is still in development. There's no fixed date yet – wishlist it on Steam and you'll be notified at launch.

How much will Gateshock cost?

We'll set the final price closer to launch. Wishlisting is free, of course – and you won't miss any news.

Can I build and share my own maps?

Absolutely. The map editor lets you build your own battlefields, test them live and share them with others via copy-paste code.

Is Gateshock a roguelite?

Yes. When you die, you invest your progress into the meta tree and come back stronger. Boss cards and rewriting tower keystones make every run different.
